Dave Rust

As others have written, this book contains a wealth of information about the Colorado Plateau and the early history of travel to the Grand Canyon north rim. Rust and his father-in-law developed a trail down Bright Angel Creek in about 1905 and, after several years of work and failures, installed a cable car to cross the Colorado at the mouth of Bright Angel Creek.

I picked up this book to read while on a 2 week camping trip in Utah in the Henry Mountains. By the end of my trip, and the end of the book, I wished I had read it years ago when I first became acquainted with this little known part of the world.
